Empowering communities through education and employment

Since its establishment in 2013, Op Die Plaas has been on a mission to make a tangible difference in its local community. With a dual focus on providing quality education and creating employment opportunities, the organization has steadily made strides towards its goals, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those it serves.

In its first year, Op Die Plaas welcomed its first staff member, Victoria Kruger, from the local community, marking the beginning of a journey that would see the empowerment of numerous individuals. Today, the organisation proudly employs six dedicated local women, each contributing their unique talents and skills to the cause.

Joining the organisation with only a Grade 12 certificate, Victoria has, over the past 11 years, pursued further education, achieving her Level 5 in Early Childhood Development (ECD). In recognition of her dedication and growth, Victoria was promoted to Head Mistress in March 2021. Her journey from a Grade 12 certificate holder to Head Mistress is a testament to the empowering environment at Op Die Plaas.
Op Die Plaas is driven by a relentless determination to expand its impact even further. To achieve this, the organisation actively seeks partnerships with forward-thinking corporations that share its vision of community upliftment through education and job creation. By fostering these partnerships, Op Die Plaas aims to amplify its reach and effect positive change on an even larger scale.

Additionally, as a participant in the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet program, Op Die Plaas receives invaluable support that helps cover monthly overheads, allowing the organisation to maintain its focus on providing quality education and creating opportunities for its staff and their families. This support fosters a cycle of empowerment and education within the community, laying the foundation for a brighter, more prosperous future for all involved.

Through dedication, collaboration, and a steadfast belief in the power of education, the organisation is paving the way for a better tomorrow, one life at a time.
